Summer in the Texas Hill Country

Many of the small towns in the Texas Hill Country have a little more open for business and a little less willing to implement social distancing. As the last week of school approaches, many of the restaurants and bars are now open, with a handful of live music options also now open. Fredericksburg has most of its major music venues open for business, the golf courses are for the most part operational, and boating and fishing are in full swing. It’s still up in the air with many of the big events and festivals, for the most part they are still a no go. Hopefully things will continue to improve in June.

Many of the Texas Hill Country Music venues are back open for business in the age of social distancing. Tickets for live outdoor shows and Luckenback are available on-line.  Crossroads has bands listed, but no online purchasing. Gruene Hall has a full list of free and paid shows with online purchase. Pat Green, Stoney Larue, and Randall King are just a few of the acts you can catch in June. I’m not sure if I have it in me to venture out to a live show just yet. But for those that are comfortable with it, live music has returned to the Texas Hill Country.

The Fun is done – Spring Festival Season

Hindsight is 20\20, but caption obvious told me that it was a good idea they canceled SXSW. For now just about every festival, sporting events, concert, music events of all kinds, drinking in public, camping, trips to the beach, swimming holes, and all other things fun, sort of fun, and related to fun have been canceled until further notice. AWESOME!
