One of the Largest Octoberfest celebrations in the county. Wurtfest is the biggest Texas Hill Country event of the year outside of Austin and San Antonio. Music and Dancing with beer and sausage is the name of the game. We got a cheap motel at the last minute and easy User rides. If you want to stay downtown or in walking distance of the fest you need to book your room early.

Located in the town that is a mall. I belive the term is “new urbanism”. The music begins at 7:00 pm in the town squeare. Bring a blanket and relax on the lawn. It’s a fun event, but we mailny go because it’s so close to our home base. The seafood restarurant blue that is next to the event is one of my favorite in Austin.

Rodeos are a big deal in the Texas Hill Country. If you have never been to one they are a great way to enjoy an authentic Texas Cowboy experience. Doesn’t get any more Country and Western than this.

This fabulous event is the perfect excuse to plan a trip to Bourne of Comfort. There are 4 shows a year. One in the spring and one in the fall in both locations.

Tickets are only $10 and there is wild game and gun raffles. Yep that’s right, gun raffles! An annual event held the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Only in Texas can you find an event like this.
