As we ring in a new year, it’s time for new plans and resolutions for better living. The first few weeks of the year bring an end to the Texas Deer Hunting season with Bucks ending January 6, and the late season doe’s ending a few weeks later. But as we approach the mid-winter season, spring festivals, fishing, hiking and other great outdoor activities are just around the corner. As the Texas Hill Country Surf staff ventures to new places, we have Bandera Texas, the cowboy Capital of the world at the top of our list in January. The event schedule this time of year can be a little thin, but Austin has “Free Week” and San Antonio has their Coffee Festival.

San Antonio Coffee Festival – Saturday January 6. We have not made it to this event, and I don’t think I’ve ever heard of another coffee festival. But we love Coffee, so it’s on the maybe to do list. Visit Website – Click Here
Free Week in Austin – Before the UT kids get back to school, most of the music venue’s in Austin open their door for no cover live music featuring quality local acts. The crowns are typical light, and it’s a great way to see some shows and save some money. Visit our Austin Fun Blog – ATXSurf.com for more information.
