The last day of the 2024 season I finally found some ducks, but in the hustle to get out the door I had forgotten my gun. That was the last in a long set of “learning experiences”.

I did not make it out for the early teal season, but did make it for the early goose season. I went out to the exact same spot I found shootable ducks last year, and spent some time upgrading my duck boat and blinds. It waas early in the season and there were no ducks or geese to be found.

The warm fall has kept most of the birds up north this year to the point this year, no birds to be  seen anywhere. Finally a big cold front came in with about 2 weeks to go, and it’s game on.
