Wurstfest- Nov 1-10
The granddaddy of them all is in New Braunfels. Home of the Schlitterbahn water park and the oldest dance hall in Texas. Downtown throws a legendary party in celebration of its German Heritage. The Fest start on Friday Nov 1st at 4pm and the call is done 10 days later on the 10th. Ticket Prices are about $15 per adult and free for children 12 and under with a few free windows in the afternoons.
Real Ale Brewing Co. Oktoberfest- Sept 21st
Sept 21 from 12pm-5pm Real Ale Brewing Co. will be starting off this years Oktoberfest season in Blanco. The Austin Polka Band will be performing and there will also be lots of food vendors to choose from. My personal favorite is the glass boot available to advanced ticket buyers so don’t delay and make sure to get your limited edition boot.
Walburg German Restaurant Oktoberfest- Sept 25-Nov 7
The longest lasting Oktoberfest by far, Walburg which is about 30 miles northeast of Austin will begin Sept 25th and go until Nov 7th. They will have live music in their Biergarten and an all you can eat buffet. Open Mic nights on Wednesday and an old fashioned arcade for the kids.
Banger’s Oktoberfest- Sept 26-28
Banger’s Sausage House and Beer Garden located in downtown Austin will be having their Oktoberfest Sept 26-28. Rainey Street is known for having a good time so be prepared to have a blast.
Austin Oktoberfest- Sept 28th
Austin will celebrate Sept 28th from 5pm-11pm. Right next to UT Campus, this is a large beer garden located in the heart of Central Austin. Just min from 6th street, downtown, Rainey, east 6th, S Congress, and Barton Springs.
Boerne Oktoberfest- Sept 27-29
It’s the 5th year of this small town Fest. Located about 20 miles West of the suburbs of San Antonio, this quaint little German town looks like a great place to kick off Oktoberfest. Boerne celebrates through the weekend of Sept 27-29. Located at the Olde Town Shopping Center and the Drink Texas Biergarten.
Fredericksburg Oktoberfest- Oct 4-6
The 39th annual festival in the Polka capital of Texas starts Oct 4-6. Admission is $8 per adult, $1 for children 7-12, and 6 and under are free. 2 and 3 day passes also available at a discounted price. They also offer Park and Ride so hop on a bus and enjoy a beer!
La Grange Oktoberfest- Oct 5th
Close to the Colorado River, La Grange makes sure there is something for everyone. This Oktoberfest will be Oct 5th from 3pm-7pm. They will be offering over 100 varieties of craft beer as well as wine from 12 different Texas wineries.
Burnet Oktoberfest- Oct 11-12
Burnet will start off with a free show downtown Friday night Oct 11 featuring Rick Trevino. The celebrating continues on the 12th with live music all day and carnival grounds. Stoney LaRue will be closing the festival down Saturday night. Ticket info for both shows in the link below.
Spring Branch Oktoberfest- Oct 19th
The historic Anhalt Hall will be the place to be on Oct 19th from 12pm-11pm. This year there will be all you can eat pot roast and sausage for $10 so come hungry. Admission is $10 before 3pm and $15 after.
San Antonio
Beethoven Maennerchor Gartenfest- Sept 20th
On Sept 20th this historic German singing society will have a 25 piece brass band from Germany performing from 7pm-9pm. There will be authentic food and beer to go along with great music. The clubroom is open to the public starting at 4pm.
Oktoberfest at BierGarten on the Riverwalk- Sept 27-29, Oct 4-6
Take a trip down to the Riverwalk and go to the BierGarten Sept 27-29, Oct 4-6. You will find all the usual Oktoberfest activities as well as celebrity keg tapping and stein hoisting. This festival started in 2014 and continues to impress year after year.
Kunstler Brewing Oktoberfest- Oct 12-13
Kunstler Brewing will start their festival Oct 12-13. The Ex In and Outlaws will be performing Saturday and The Grid Polka Band will be on Sunday.
Oktoberfest at the Texas Hofbrau- Oct 12-13
This will also be running the weekend of Oct 12-13 and will be the first Oktoberfest at the Quarry Hofbrau and Beer Garden. As a new experience for someone who’s been there and done that, this will be something exciting to try out.
