October Texas Hill Country Events

Oktoberfest Sept-Nov

Texas Hill Country is known for it’s strong German Heritage. German’s arrived in Texas from 1830 to the early 1890’s and continued the Oktoberfest tradition. Oktoberfest started in Munich in 1810 to celebrate a royal wedding which included horse races. The horse races were such a hit that they continued for years to come and hence became Oktoberfest. Now the horse races are no more but that has not stopped the celebrating. Munich is having it’s 186th Oktoberfest this year and is the largest festival in the world. Texas does everything bigger and that includes Oktoberfest. We have the polka bands and dancing, the beer and wine, lots of delicious fried food, contests, prizes, and so much more..

Go to Hill Country Oktoberfest to see how Texas does Oktoberfest.
