Spring is in full swing in the Texas Hill Country. The weather is perfect, the fishing is great, and there are plenty of fun events in May. One of the biggest events is the almost 3 week long Kerrville Folk Festival located at the Quiet Valley Ranch located about 9 miles south of Kerrville. There are a few boat shows, cook-offs, cars shows, a rodeo, and a few other random fun events before Memorial day and the official start of Summer.

Lago Fest: May 11
It a music fest on the shores of Lake Travis with boat. This year the Headline is none other than Ray Wylie Hubbard, one of my favorite Texas country musicians. It’s mother’s day weekend. There is boat parking for people like me with just your average boat, and “Yacht Club Parking”.
Blanco Classic Car Show: May 18
The town center and Blanco River Park are an excellent setting for a Car show. If your up for a little drive you can also take in the Antique Tractor Show the same day in Fredericksburg.
The Testicle Festival: May 19
Caswell Texas
https://www.facebook.com/Castell-General-Store-151697621724
Nothing says mother’s day like a “Testicle Festival”. In the very small not so well know town of Caswell there is supposedly a General store with an outstanding sense of humor. We have not been there yet, and just found this on Facebook. If I wasn’t spending Mother’s day weekend with my mother at someplace not called the Tactical Festival, I would definably make the road trip to check this out. Maybe they have more than one per year. Two would seem like the appropriate number.
Bandera Rodeo: May 24-26
A great weekend to take in all the fun that is the Cowboy Capital of the world. I can’t think of a better setting for a Rodeo.
